News: New Amphitrucks

Gibbs Amphibians – the same outfit behind the Aquada amphibious sportscar and Quadski ATV/jet-ski –have introduced a pair of vehicles called the Phibian and the Humdinga.

The 30-foot-long Phibian (above) looks something like a Coast Guard patrol boat on a trailer packs a 500-horsepower turbo diesel that can drive all four wheels (selectable) or a pair of water jet drives, carrying up to 15 passengers.

The Humdinga (above) measures 21.5 feet long and packs a 350-horsepower supercharged V8 to carry up to seven people.

Both are designed to make the transition from land to water and back to land, enabling rescue and supply duties to be carried out with ease and efficiency.
