WRC Monte-Carlo: Loeb In The Lead

After setting the fastest time on SS10 the eight-time world champion, Sébastien Loeb completed the second day of the five-day Rallye Monte-Carlo with an assertive lead of more than 1½ minutes to end his working day with a comfortable margin at the top of the order. “I tried to push, as we don’t know what will happen tomorrow. We try to increase our lead for now…” With almost two-thirds of the week’s competitive distance completed (266km of 433km), Sébastien Loeb is on his way to claiming the sixth Rallye Monte-Carlo success of his career. “My car is perfect and the feeling is good.”

Behind him the scramble for the 2nd position was the most entertaining of the day as Dani Sordo and Petter Solberg kept trading the second place on several occasions. Hopefully, the pair will continue to keep us entertained on the two awesome stages that await them in the Vercors Mountains.

The major disappointment of the day came when the S2000 class leader Sébastien Ogier crashed out at high speed on SS10 almost 5kms to the end of the stage.
