2012 London to Cape Town World Cup Rally
Over the last 5 days, we in Nairobi Kenya have been treated to the sights and sounds of a couple of cars as old as a 1923 – Vauxhall OD 23-60 to modern BMW X5 & Toyota Land cruisers all courtesy of the 2012 London to Cape Town World Cup Rally
The rally organized by The Endurance Rally Association– a non-profit-making national motor-club hopes to benefit three major causes to help improve the lives of locals living along the route.
A little back grounder, the London to Cape Town World Cup Rally endeavors to capture the spirit of the long distance World Cup Rallies of the 1970s with “press on” driver’s challenges, Time Trials and a time-schedule to be maintained every day.
The event which runs from 1st – 29th of January entered Kenya on 15th January for rest day and this morning (19th January) left for Arusha, Tanzania and the rest of the leg.
While the convoy was in Nairobi, They blessed us with these sights.
